Why your eyebrows aren't symmetrical (and how to fake it)
You can spend 20 minutes drawing them every morning, you can buy the best products on the market... but if your eyebrows aren't naturally symmetrical, they never will be perfectly. And that's normal. The human face isn't symmetrical: one eye is always a little higher, one eyebrow grows differently, one forehead is slightly more rounded, and sometimes even facial muscles pull more on one side than the other.
So no, it's not that you're "bad" at makeup; it's just your morphology. But the good news is that you can cheat — and make it completely invisible. First reason: growth. One eyebrow always grows faster than the other and often in a different direction. That's why you have "good" thickness on one side and less volume on the other.
Second reason: facial expression. We raise one eyebrow more than the other when we speak, we smile more on one side, we have a muscular habit that hollows out or raises the eyebrow area. Result: one eyebrow appears higher, the other straighter. Third reason: past epilations. By repeatedly plucking, redrawing, and correcting, we often create an asymmetry that is only visible when wearing makeup. A small gap on the left, a tail that's a bit too short on the right... it stays.
Now that you know why, here's how to cheat in 10 seconds. First tip: always brush before applying makeup. By brushing upwards, you see the true shape. Often, asymmetry simply comes from a lack of volume. Second tip: start with the thinner eyebrow. Lightly redraw its tail, fill in its small gaps with micro-strokes. Once the weaker one is corrected, adjust the other. Never the other way around.
Third tip: don't try to make them "identical," but rather coherent. We want a general impression of balance, not a copy-paste. You can raise one eyebrow slightly with Brow Coco Gel and soften the other by brushing a little more horizontally. Fourth tip: fill only where necessary.
No need to redraw blocks. Three or four micro-strokes in the sparse area are often enough to restore balance. Fifth tip: use gel to cheat on height. If your right eyebrow is lower, brush it upwards for an instant lift. If your left eyebrow is higher, brush it slightly to the side to break the overly raised effect.
This is the simplest way to realign the two. Sixth tip: check symmetry by stepping back. Never stay glued to the mirror: taking a step back is how you see the true result. If it's perfect up close but uneven from afar, just adjust the direction of a few hairs.
By applying these techniques, you'll never again feel like your eyebrows "aren't the same." They'll remain natural, balanced, and harmonious... without anyone guessing you've cheated a little.
